Our wine tour will have you leaving Prince Edward County with a greater appreciation for, and knowledge of the people, their passion, and the great wines that they are making here.

Make the most of your PEC Wine Experience.

You appreciate wine and want to learn more, and you want personalized service excellence. Maybe you’re a wine geek, a collector, thinking about starting a collection, really enjoy wine, or you are just starting your wine journey and want an authentic learning experience.

With Revolving Axis you won’t be crowded into a tour bus or van with strangers and a designated driver, you won’t have a fixed tour itinerary, you won’t feel rushed to leave a winery at a scheduled time, and you won’t fight for space or attention at a busy tasting bar to try to understand what you should taste.

You might have been to the County before and have been drawn back for more. Or this is your first time here. But County winemaking, the wines of Ontario, or wines in general interest you and you want to learn more. And you want to enjoy a private and intimate look at the County and winemaking with a knowledgable host.

We will customize your County wine tour and winery visits, and provide a personalized experience base on your group’s interests, tastes and wine knowledge.

Each wine tour is private and personalized for you and your group, and can range in size from 2-4 people. Our prices include all fees for your winery visits and tastings. Your tour includes pick up and drop off wherever you’re staying in Prince Edward County, and you’ll tour comfortably in a new model BMW X3. For an additional fee, we can also pick up/drop off in Belleville or Quinte West (Trenton, Carrying Place). Contact us for specifics if you are staying outside of the County.

While we drive between wineries, we’ll talk about the County, its history, how and why wine is being made here, and what makes it a special place that is now producing exceptional wines. Your host has a wealth of wine experience and knowledge, so we can talk about other aspects of the wine world too. There is no script and we want you to leave knowing more than when you arrived, and appreciating the passion of the people making wine here.

During each wine tour, we will visit wineries selected specifically for your group based on the information that you provide when you book your tour. Your tour itinerary and all winery reservations will be taken care of for you. We partner with over 20 different wineries/cideries in the County, so every tour is different. Note that we receive no financial compensation from any of our winery partners for your visit.

We’ll take our time at each winery to understand what makes it unique and you’ll have time to truly enjoy the wines at your own pace. Your host will help you select what to taste. At no time are you going to be rushed to get to the next tour stop - we’ll adjust our schedule as we go. We offer two tour options - the Wine Tasting Tour or the Wine Enthusiast Tour.

Wine Tasting Tour

Our Wine Tasting Tour option includes a visit to 4 wineries for a traditional wine tasting. As determined by each winery we visit, that could be set tasting flights or your own tasting selections. The Wine Tasting Tour option is available 7 days of the week and throughout the season. Your host will inform you about each winery and the people involved, its history and its vineyards. He will accompany you for the tasting to talk about the wines, and help guide you and your group in making tasting selections.

Wine Enthusiast Tour

If you choose our Wine Enthusiast Tour option, we will visit 3 wineries. At one winery that we visit you’ll receive a more in-depth tour of the winery (and possibly the vineyards depending on time of the season). You’ll meet either the proprietor, the winemaker, assistant winemaker, or an experienced member of the winery staff and hear their story. You may taste barrel or library samples (winery determined), along with a tasting of their currently available wines in bottle. At the remaining 2 wineries on the tour, you will receive a traditional wine tasting (as in the Wine Tasting Tour option above). The Wine Enthusiast Tour requires at least 5 days advance booking so that we can ensure the availability of winery personnel, and this option is not available on Saturdays or statutory holidays in peak season.

For either tour option, you will also have the option to exchange one of your winery visits for a cidery visit. We currently don’t include visits to either micro breweries or distilleries in our tours.

And what about food during your tour? For an additional charge we can include a lunch (usually a charcuterie picnic freshly prepared that morning), or a snack box (sample displayed) for each person. We can also include a winery in your itinerary that provides food (at your expense). Food options are selected when you book, or you can notify us a few days in advance of your tour. If you select a winery provided lunch you must notify us when you book your tour so we can set your itinerary accordingly.

Our prices include all fees for your winery visits and tastings. The only additional charges will be for a winery provided lunch, or any other food that you may order during a tasting visit. And of course if you choose to buy the wines (which after you taste them we hope that you do).

Our tours typically start at 11am and last approximately 5 hours, but this somewhat depends on where you are staying in the County and the wineries that are selected for your tour. If you would like your tour to start at another time, you can let us know when you book (keeping in mind that many County wineries are open from 11am to 5pm, and hours in the off season are reduced).

We are fully licensed and insured to operate wine tours in Prince Edward County (something you should always verify beforehand with your chosen service because accidents do happen and County bylaws require that tour operators/drivers be licensed). County licensing ensures that the vehicle is mechanically inspected annually and that the driver has a clean driving and criminal record.

We will require a fee deposit at the time of booking (refundable on cancellation or rescheduling up to 3 days prior to your tour). The balance is due at, or prior to the start of your tour by either Interac e-transfer or using our portable Square Payments reader when we pick you up.

We can also host corporate or larger group tours using a vehicle and designated driver provided by the client. Contact us directly for more details.

The Revolving Axis Wine Tour

At Revolving Axis, we believe in sustainability and the protection of our environment. We do not believe in single use plastic water bottles and the harm they are causing to the planet and our water ecosystem. We have a chilled water cooler for our tour guests and we supply everyone in your group with their own reusable thermal bottle for the duration of the tour (they are cleaned and sterilized after every tour). You are also welcome to bring your own reusable water bottles but we ask that you leave the plastic behind.

Our prices include all winery fees for the visits and tastings (tasting fees range from $10-25 per tasting flight per winery in the County) so you won’t have that added expense with our tours. Prices below do not include Ontario HST (13%).
